Celebrating Accessible Audiobooks for Every Child

We are delighted to be an accessibility partner this World Book Day, helping to ensure that all children and young people can access books through audio.

At Calibre, we provide free audiobooks for under 25s who struggle with reading. For many families, traditional print simply isn’t accessible. This might be due to:

  • Neurodivergent conditions such as dyslexia, ADHD or autism

  • A visual impairment or blindness

  • Physical dexterity difficulties such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

  • A brain injury or cognitive impairment, including head trauma or stroke.

We believe every child deserves access to stories, imagination and the joy of reading — and audiobooks can make that possible.

World Book Day 2026 – Audiobooks Available Now

With World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, we’re thrilled to offer 12 official World Book Day titles in fully accessible audiobook format. As an accessibility partner, we are proud to champion inclusive reading and remove barriers so that children who find reading difficult can take part in World Book Day alongside their peers.

These audiobooks allow children and young people with dyslexia, visual impairments, physical disabilities, or cognitive challenges to fully participate in World Book Day 2026. Free Audiobooks for Young People Who Struggle With Reading

As an audiobook charity, our mission goes beyond one day in the calendar. We provide free access to audiobooks all year round for children and young people under 25 who cannot easily access printed books.

World Book Day is about celebrating reading in all its forms — and that includes listening. If you support a young person who finds reading difficult, explore our accessible audiobook library and help them discover the power of stories in a way that works for them.

Because stories should be for everyone.
