We are keen to build long-term relationships with grant-making trusts and foundations.
We welcome discussions about how we can work together to reach more people who are denied the pleasure of books because they are unable to read standard print either due to visual impairment, dyslexia or some other physical or mental disability.
Grants can help us to grow and offer new services, as well as supporting our core activities. In 2019, Trusts and Foundations provided 6.5% of our income and helped to deliver our service to over 13,000 members.
In 2019, we received funding from 57 Trusts and Foundations, which enabled us to buy two new CD duplicators, and add 99 new book titles to our library.
Others gave us funding to help to cover the cost of providing our audiobooks to members living in a particular area of the country. This year, in addition to raising money for new books and our core costs, we will also have a number of new projects linked to Calibre Audio’s new strategy to support more dyslexic people and others who are print disabled because of a mental or physical disability.
