Now that the mornings are feeling chilly and autumn beckons, have your thoughts turned to Christmas yet? There are three important things we'd like to let you know about that will really help us with our fundraising this Christmas:
Christmas Cards: This year we are just using up our Christmas card stock from last year, so please get in touch early if you would like to buy some as we expect to run out. You can see what’s available on our website shop where you can order online or place an order by calling 01296 432 339. If you would prefer to receive and order form by post, please call us and we can arrange that.
Online shopping: if you are a fan of online shopping there are two websites where you can generate donations from the retailers to Calibre. If you usually shop on Amazon, please use smile.amazon.co.uk which is their charitable website where you can choose Calibre Audio as your favourite charity. Amazon will donate to us as you shop at no additional cost to you. You could also sign up to www.easyfundraising.org.uk. From there you can do your online shopping as normal and if your retailer is one of over 4,000 who are in the scheme, the retailer will make a small donation to your chosen charity as a thank you.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge: The final Christmas themed mention is the opportunity to double the value of your donation to Calibre. We are delighted to be one of the charities chosen by The Big Give for their Christmas Challenge this year. This is the biggest match funding event in the UK and raises millions of pounds for charity. The Challenge runs from 1-8 December and is open to online donations through their website only. We are delighted and hugely grateful to Kings Access Technology, who provide our memory sticks and Solo and Sonic players, for pledging to match the first £3,000 of donations we receive for this Challenge. We are equally grateful to The Reed Foundation who will also be matching £1,500 of donations. We are aiming to raise £12,000 to buy 48 new books to add to our collection. We will let members know how to take part nearer the time.
